The Grace Academy Lions will square off against the Charlotte S Stampede at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Grace Academy has five straight wins, Charlotte S has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Tuesday, Grace Academy got the win against Covenant Classical by a conclusive 10-1. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by nine runs or more this season.

Seth Stanton made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Stanton was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
In other pitching news, Grace Academy got a great performance from Andrew Nowlin as he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Hunter Murphy, who scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-5. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Parker Atwell was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Charlotte S came up short against Metrolina Christian Academy on Tuesday, falling 12-3.
Charlotte S saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tim Barry, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one RBI. Another was Jandel Rodriguez, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Grace Academy pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to strikeouts: they averaged an imposing nine strikeouts in those games compared to only 3.5 in the others. As for Charlotte S, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.
Charlotte S' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Grace Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .372. It's a different story for Charlotte S, though, as they've only averaged .207. Will they be able to contain Grace Academy's hitters?
