The Elmwood-Murdock Knights had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.9 points), and they went ahead and made it 12 on Saturday. They secured a 43-37 W over Freeman. That's another feather in the cap for Elmwood-Murdock, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Laney Frahm was her usual excellent self, scoring 16 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tatum Backemeyer, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Elmwood-Murdock pushed their record up to 18-1 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Freeman, their loss dropped their record down to 15-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elmwood-Murdock will challenge the Thunderbirds at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Johnson County Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 187th, while the Knights are ranked 23rd). As for Freeman, they will head out on the road to take on the Jets on Tuesday.
