They took a 66-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lighthouse Private Christian Academy. Chiles found out winning isn't easy when your three-point shooting is a whole 22% worse than the opposition.
Chiles' loss came despite strong showings from Trenquarius Strozier and Isaiah Bundrage. Strozier scored seven points along with 15 rebounds and four blocks, while Bundrage scored 19 points along with five rebounds. Bundrage scored a full 33.3% of Chiles' points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Gabe Parks, who scored 13 points.
Lighthouse Private Christian Academy had a senior duo take command as Michael Ribeiro scored 25 points along with five assists and four steals and Vitor Oliveira scored 15 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Ribeiro has scored at least 25% of Lighthouse Private Christian Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anton Johnson, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Chiles' loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Lighthouse Private Christian Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chiles will take on St. John Paul II at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lighthouse Private Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Marianna at 7:00 p.m. Marianna is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 61.2 points per game.
