Lincoln scaled the state rankings by moving to 749 from 780 this week, the biggest jump in Academic. The Mustangs were able to move up by beating Balboa 34-15.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Galileo beat Washington 58-0. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
Lincoln's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Davion Telfor chipped in 204 yards.
Telfor was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 204 yards on 24 carries as Phil Ferrigno's team bested the Buccaneers. Teammate Tyree Marzetta added to the ground attack by rushing for 84 yards.
Galileo's Kyle Nelson and Dontell Jackson have formed a dream team this season, leading Academic in both passing and receiving yards. Nelson has thrown for 1,801 yards this season, while Jackson has 38 catches for 633 yards. The Mustangs' Telfor leads the league in rushing yards with 1,071.
Mark Huynh's team's Ronzel Fox needs only 46 yards against Marshall next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Fox has rushed for 954 yards on 101 carries so far this year.
Going into this week's contest against the Phoenix, the Lions' Nelson needs 199 passing yards to surpass 2,000 on the season.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Lowell takes on Balboa. At the moment, the Cardinals are in second, while ALVARO CARVAJAL's team is in fifth.
The Eagles lost to Galileo 58-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
