Softball Recap: Grand Saline Has No Trouble Against Edgewood

Grand Saline barely beat Edgewood the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Grand Saline Indians blew past the Edgewood Bulldogs 7-1 on Friday. Considering the Indians have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Grand Saline has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. Edgewood's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7-1.

Coming up, Grand Saline will square off against Eustace at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Grand Saline's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Eustace's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Edgewood, they will take on Winona at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Edgewood is facing Winona at the right time seeing as Winona is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
