Evangel Christian extended the longest winning streak in Alabama Christian (8 Man) this week by beating Hope Christian, 34-32. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Evangel Christian and the Eagles played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Evangel Christian eventually emerging with a 34-32 victory. Andrew Thompson threw for 111 yards and two touchdowns and ran for three yards in the win.
Evangel Christian's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Lightning feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Thompson has thrown for 1179 yards and 20 touchdowns this season, while Josh Letson has 16 catches for 474 yards. David Baggett leads the league in rushing with 516 yards.
Del Clayton's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 305 from 368. The improvement came about via a 34-32 victory over Hope Christian last week.
