Globe is 9-1 against Miami since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Tigers will head out to challenge the Vandals at 4:00 p.m. Globe is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Globe came out on top against Florence on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run first inning. The Tigers put the hurt on the Gophers with a sharp 11-3 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Tigers have posted against the Gophers since April 13, 2022.
Ciena Encizo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Zoey Tulk, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since March 2nd. Another player making a difference was Loghan Williamson, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Nine must be Miami's lucky number: they beat Glendale Prep Academy with that score not once but twice on Monday. The Vandals were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Griffins. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vandals.
Tessa Roberts made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 19 over seven innings pitched. Roberts was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles.
In other batting news, Kadence Tapia was excellent, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. Audrina Herrera also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Globe's record now sits at 11-5. As for Miami, they now have a winning record of 5-4-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Globe has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Miami struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Globe skirted past Miami 15-13 in their previous meeting back in March of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
