The Scott Skyhawks will face off against the Buffalo Bison at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Scott is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
Scott is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of West Virginia's top teams: George Washington, who was ranked 22nd at the time (Scott was ranked 20th). The Skyhawks came out on top against the Patriots by a score of 9-4 on Wednesday.

Hunter Woodrum made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Blayne Kuhn, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Ryan Neal was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Buffalo lost 12-3 to Wayne on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bison have suffered against the Pioneers since May 5, 2016.
Buffalo saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Rutan, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one run. That triple was Rutan's first of the season.
Scott has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Buffalo, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
Buffalo's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Scott hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .343. It's a different story for Buffalo, though, as they've only averaged .184. Will they be able to contain Scott's hitters?
Scott was able to grind out a solid victory over Buffalo in their previous meeting two weeks ago, winning 9-4. Will the Skyhawks repeat their success, or do the Bison have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
