The Hoisington Cardinals suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Saturday. Their rough 62-38 defeat to Minneapolis might stick with them for a while. Hoisington was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Minneapolis apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2017.
Hoisington's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kylee Hahn, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Hahn is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsi Maier, who scored four points along with four blocks.
Hoisington's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Minneapolis, their victory was their tenth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hoisington and Phillipsburg will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Minneapolis will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Hillsboro on January 26th.
