Eureka dropped down to 4-5 on Thursday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They took a blow against the Mineral County Serpents, falling 42-2. The Vandals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.

As for Mineral County, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 49.0 points over those games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mineral County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chase Reeves, who threw for 351 yards and five TDs while completing 95% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave Reeves a new career-high in passer rating (172.9). Mineral County's leading receiver Quentin Isom was Reeves' top target yet again, picking up 173 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

While Eureka had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
