Pleasantville has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Absegami Braves at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Pleasantville beat Wildwood 55-51. The win was all the more spectacular given Pleasantville's disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 333rd, while Wildwood is ranked 140th).
In what's become a running theme this season, Absegami gave their fans yet another huge victory on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Cape May County Tech 70-34 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Absegami has posted since December 28, 2023.
Pleasantville's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-8. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points per game. As for Absegami, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.
Pleasantville suffered a grim 80-55 defeat to Absegami in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can Pleasantville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
