Watertown is 0-9 against Crosby since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Watertown Indians will look to defend their home court against the Crosby Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Watertown will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Connecticut Rankings (they are ranked 161st, while Crosby is ranked 17th).
Watertown's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell to Derby 46-41.
Meanwhile, Crosby put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 91-44 win over Oxford at home. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 54-19.
Crosby got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Micah Blackman out in front who scored nine points along with 16 rebounds and three steals. Blackman hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for eight straight games. Curtis Ellis was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with nine rebounds and six steals.
Watertown has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season. As for Crosby, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.
Watertown was dealt a bruising 82-36 loss at the hands of Crosby in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Watertown was down 41-18.
