After losing to The Sonora Broncos the last time they met, the Forsan Buffaloes decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Forsan sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 24-22 win over Sonora on Friday.
Forsan's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Huston Stockton, who rushed for 81 yards and a touchdown. Hayden Bowlin was another key contributor, gaining 44 total yards and two touchdowns.
When it comes to explaining why Sonora lost, one person who can't be blamed is Edgar Deluna. Despite the final result, he rushed for 79 yards and two touchdowns. Deluna hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for ten straight games.
Forsan's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Sonora, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 9-1.
Forsan will head out on the road to face off against Stamford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Stamford is on a five-game streak of home wins, Forsan a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field. As for Sonora, they will face off against Anson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
