The King's Way Christian Knights will challenge the Hockinson Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. King's Way Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.5 runs per game this season.
King's Way Christian's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Kalama with a sharp 18-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Chinooks: they've now won three in a row.
Derek Tarnoski was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in hits (zero). He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jace Barnes, who scored four runs and stole Three bases. while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Cade Horrocks was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
King's Way Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Hockinson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 12-2 to Lakeside.
Hockinson saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Graham Learing, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
The win got King's Way Christian back to even at 2-2. As for Hockinson, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
Hockinson's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. King's Way Christian has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Hockinson, though, as they've been averaging only 3 strikeouts. Will King's Way Christian keep running through batters, or will Hockinson buck the trend?
King's Way Christian skirted past Hockinson 3-2 when the teams last played back in April of 2022. Will King's Way Christian repeat their success, or does Hockinson have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
