After a string of three wins, Coffee's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Statesboro by a score of 49-47. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Coffee has suffered yet this season.
The losing side was boosted by Marquavious Bussey, who scored 20 points along with two steals. That was a full 42.6% of Coffee's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Junitho Benson, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Even though Ware County has not done well against Bradwell Institute recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Ware County walked away with a 62-55 win over Bradwell Institute. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Coffee's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Ware County, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 13-8 record this season.
