Volleyball Recap: Maize Gets the Win

Maize won the last time they faced Derby and things went their way on Saturday too. The Eagles walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Panthers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Maize easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-9.

Brylee Lindgren paced Maize's offense, picking up ten kills. Lindgren got some help from Ellie Wisdom and her 12 assists. Lyric Duncan controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Maize's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Derby, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7-1.

Maize wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Kapaun Mt. Carmel on the 20th. As for Derby, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Northwest on the 20th.
