On Thursday, Honaker came up short against Tri-Cities Christian and fell 64-53. Honaker has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Tri-Cities Christian found their leader in underclassman Lofton Looney , who scored 22 points. The contest was Looney 's 14th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ashby Chadwick, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds.
Honaker's loss ended a eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-4. As for Tri-Cities Christian, their win bumped their record up to 14-5.
Honaker will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Rural Retreat at 8:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Tri-Cities Christian and Trinity Christian Academy will round out the year against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at. Trinity Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 326th in Florida, while Tri-Cities Christian is ranked 121st in Tennessee).
