Apollo has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Sunrise Mountain Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Apollo focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Thursday.
Apollo posted their biggest win since December 7, 2023 on Thursday. They blew past Paradise Valley 71-41 at home.
DeQuean Bryant continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 18 points along with two steals. Elijah White was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five assists and four steals.
Meanwhile, Sunrise Mountain pushed their score all the way to 58 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 68-58 to Liberty. Sunrise Mountain has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Apollo is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Sunrise Mountain, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.
Apollo couldn't quite finish off Sunrise Mountain when the teams last played back in December of 2023 and fell 59-56. Can Apollo avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
