It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Hampton County Hurricanes had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 48-14 victory over Andrews. Considering Hampton County has won nine games by more than 22 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Zion Dobson was on fire: he rushed for 288 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 10.3 yards per carry. Dobson was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 51 yards. Chris Terry was another key contributor, rushing for 26 yards and a touchdown.
The victory (which was Hampton County's sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.0 points per game. As for Andrews, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.
Hampton County will be playing in front of their home fans against Andrew Jackson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Andrew Jackson knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six games -- so hopefully Hampton County likes a good challenge. Andrews does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
