MARIETTA, Ga. - In a back and forth game, Lassiter's offense came through to hand Trojans a 42-41 win.
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by
Will Anderson in the second quarter, the Trojans were up 35-14 at the half.
Lassiter saw its 21-point halftime lead fall to seven entering the fourth.
LHS led by as many as 28 points before the Warriors cut into the final margin.
Cherokee's
Spencer Ashley played well. The junior quarterback threw five touchdowns. He has now scored seven touchdowns on the season.
A 63-13 Lassiter victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The victory was a step in the right direction for the Trojans, who were coming off a 35-20 defeat at the hands of Kell in its previous game.
Lassiter (2-2) goes up against Woodstock in a AAAAAA Region 5 game matchup next week, while Cherokee (2-2) locks horns with Walton also in a AAAAAA Region 5 game.
