St. Bernard's extended the longest winning streak in Humboldt-Del Norte - Little 4 this week by beating South Fork, 40-6. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
St. Bernard's took down the Cubs 40-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
South Fork's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Joey Wittlake threw for 114 and one touchdown and Levi Paine had 69 yards receiving. On the ground Nate Miller chipped in four yards. Troy Langley helped South Fork's passing attack out by catching four balls for 31 yards.
South Fork's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Cubs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Wittlake has thrown for 966 yards and eight touchdowns this season, while Langley has 31 catches for 444 yards. Wittlake also leads the league in rushing with 287 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Jason White's team takes on Hoopa Valley. As it stands, the Crusaders are in first, while the Warriors are in third.
St. Bernard's made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,617 from 7,980. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 40-6 victory over Andy Olsen's team last week.
