The Kecoughtan Warriors will challenge the Woodside Wolverines at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Kecoughtan took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They never let Denbigh get on the board and left with a 13-0 win.
Brayden Fields tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kecoughtan got a massive performance out of Henry Hampton, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave Hampton a new career-high. Connor Francis was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double.
Kecoughtan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Woodside came into Thursday's contest having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over Warwick on Thursday. The Wolverines not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 17th (when they won 22-2).
Mattaniah Cook made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Woodside is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 4-9 otherwise. Cook was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Mason Mompoint was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Woodside: the team is 5-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Connor Castillo, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Kecoughtan has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Woodside, their win bumped their record up to 6-10.
Kecoughtan came out on top in a nail-biter against Woodside when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Wolverines have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
