The North Marion Colts''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 54-8 loss at the hands of Hawthorne. North Marion was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-8.
Cj Ingram got back to being his usual excellent self, as he threw for 286 yards and five touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Alvon Isaac was another key contributor, picking up 135 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
North Marion's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-7. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Hawthorne, Dunnellon, and Vanguard. As for Hawthorne, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
North Marion will head out on the road to face off against Williston at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Williston will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line. As for Hawthorne, they will be playing at home against Akelynn's Angels Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Akelynn's Angels Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 472nd, while Hawthorne is ranked 24th).
