Volleyball Recap: Cornerstone Family Wins Going Away Against St. Joseph D

Cornerstone Family came into Thursday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the St. Joseph D Defenders on Thursday. The Saints not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 27, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Cornerstone Family was: they took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-11, 25-13.

Molly Riddle was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had four digs and four aces. What's more, she posted two assists, the most she's had since back in October of 2024.

Riddle wasn't the only good server: Cornerstone Family was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 22 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in five consecutive contests.

Cornerstone Family's victory bumped their record up to 2-8. As for St. Joseph D, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Coincidentally, Cornerstone Family and St. Joseph D will both be playing Heritage Christian the next time they take the court. The Defenders will head out to face the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Saints will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
