The Grand Saline Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They took a 50-36 bruising from Chisum. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Grand Saline in their matchups with Chisum: they've now lost eight in a row.
Chisum's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emma Garner, who scored 11 points along with six blocks. Garner is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last 21 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlyn Hutchison, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Grand Saline has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-10 record this season. As for Chisum, their win bumped their record up to 13-14.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Rains the next time they take the court. Chisum will head out to face Rains at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, while Grand Saline will host them at 5:45 p.m. on Friday.
