This season hasn't been kind to the Tacony Academy Charter Lions, who are still winless after their 13th contest. They were beaten by Roxborough 77-49 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Tacony Academy Charter can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 688th, while the Wolves are ranked 277th).
It was another big night for Sahir Smith, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 20 rebounds for Roxborough. Stefan Phillips was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Tacony Academy Charter's defeat was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Roxborough, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-4.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Martin Luther King the next time they take the court. Tacony Academy Charter will head out to face the Cougars at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Wolves will head out to face them at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
