After both having extra time off, the Manteca Buffaloes and the Antelope Titans will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, Manteca didn't have quite enough to beat Sierra and fell 3-2.
Manteca actually scored more points across those five sets (112-107), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 21-25, 18-25, 25-23, 17-15.
Meanwhile, Antelope had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Lions.
Antelope got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 28-30, 27-25, 25-19.
Antelope found their leader in freshman Anthony Ehly, who had three digs and two aces. Ehly also set a new season-high mark in assists with 29.
Antelope was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in three consecutive games.
Antelope's victory bumped their record up to 19-13. As for Manteca, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 21-8.
Manteca beat Antelope 2-0 in their previous matchup back in March. Will the Buffaloes repeat their success, or do the Titans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
