Hickory Ridge had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They were fully in charge last Thursday, breezing past Central Cabarrus 35-0. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Hickory Ridge had established a 28-0 advantage.
Meanwhile, Jay M. Robinson had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They snuck past Hibriten with a 42-36 win.
Their wins bumped Jay M. Robinson to 1-0 and Hickory Ridge to 1-0. Keep an eye on the score for this one : both teams put up some lofty point totals in their previous games, so things might heat up even more when they meet up.
