After five games on the road, Balmorhea is heading back home. After both having extra time off, they and the Midland Texas Leadership Charter Academy Eagles will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 6:00 p.m. on February 13th.
Balmorhea lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on last Tuesday was a bit more commanding. Their tough 59-33 defeat to Van Horn might stick with them for a while. Balmorhea was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-13.
Meanwhile, Midland Texas Leadership Charter Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success back in January. They blew past Varsity Opponent 84-23 at home. The team's offensive explosion also rewarded Midland Texas Leadership Charter Academy with their most commanding win of the season.
Midland Texas Leadership Charter Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Beaux Turner, who scored 20 points. It was the first time this season that Turner scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Brody Chapman, who scored 20 points.
Balmorhea dropped their record down to 5-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Midland Texas Leadership Charter Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-10.
