Jordan had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 41-38 win over the Cottonwood Colts. This was a revenge game for the Beetdiggers: when they faced off against the Colts back in December of 2024, they had to take a 48-40 loss.
Jordan got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Paige Smith out in front who went 5 for 7 en route to 10 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Felita Tauvao, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 11 points along with seven boards and four steals.
Jordan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 13 consecutive games.
Cottonwood lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Carley Caton, who posted seven points. Another player making a difference was Ashlyn Tripp, who scored nine points and five rebounds.
Jordan is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. As for Cottonwood, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-4.
Jordan wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 52-50 win against Tooele on the 28th. Cottonwood has also already played their next game, a 59-28 victory against Murray on the 28th.
