Baseball Recap: Del Sol Wins Going Away Against Eldorado

Del Sol lost to Eldorado on April 5th, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Dragons were the clear victors by a 12-5 margin over the Firehawks. Considering the Dragons have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Joseph Luna spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits.

At the plate, Bryan Sanchez was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Issac Vollink, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Del Sol's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-11. As for Eldorado, they now have a losing record of 11-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Del Sol will head out to face off against Desert Pines at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Dragons are facing the Jaguars at the right time seeing as the Jaguars are stuck on a 15-game losing streak. As for Eldorado, they are taking a road trip to take on Virgin Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Firehawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
