The matchup between The Normal West Wildcats and the Centennial Chargers on Friday hardly resembled the 7-0 effort from their previous meeting. Normal West strolled past Centennial with points to spare, taking the game 40-24. The victory was just what Normal West needed coming off of a 62-41 loss in their prior game.
Several Chargers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kodiac Pruitt, who rushed for 104 yards on only 14 carries. Kellen Davis was another key contributor, throwing for 107 yards and two touchdowns.
Normal West has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. As for Centennial, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Normal West will take on Simeon at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Simeon will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Centennial, they will be playing at home against Crete-Monee at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
