Lyman is 6-1 against Powell since February of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Lyman Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Powell Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Lyman has now lost seven straight, leaving the team is hunting for their first win since January 6.
Last Friday, Lyman lost to Pinedale on the road by a decisive 61-42 margin.
Meanwhile, Powell was able to grind out a solid victory over Buffalo on Saturday, taking the game 47-37. Given Powell's advantage in MaxPreps' Wyoming basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while Buffalo is ranked 31st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lyman has not been sharp recently as the team has lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Powell, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-0-1.
Lyman was able to grind out a solid victory over Powell in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, winning 59-47. Will Lyman repeat their success, or does Powell have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
