After losing to Pleasant Hope the last time they met, Clever decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Blue Jays put the hurt on the Pirates with a sharp 18-5 victory on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Blue Jays, who have now won 14 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Autumn Thrasher was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted over her last seven contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Piper Steele, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Clever is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Pleasant Hope, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clever will host Mountain Grove at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Pleasant Hope, they will be playing at home against Bakersfield at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
