Zephyrhills Christian Academy fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against Academy at the Lakes by a score of 53-43 last Monday.
It was another big night for Jordani Blanc, who scored 26 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Blake Alford was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Meanwhile, Cambridge Christian strolled past Foundation Christian Academy with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 62-47.
Zay Burton and Caden Martinez were among the main playmakers for Cambridge Christian as the former scored 20 points and the latter scored 21 points. Burton continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Proffitt, who scored six points.
Zephyrhills Christian Academy's win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6. As for Cambridge Christian, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
Keep an eye on the arc in Thursday's contest: Zephyrhills Christian Academy have been dynamite from deep this season, having made 47% of their threes per game. It's a different story for Cambridge Christian, though, as they've only made 19.1% of their threes per game this season. Given Zephyrhills Christian Academy's sizeable advantage in that area, Cambridge Christian will need to find a way to close that gap.
