The Howard Eagles lost against the Riverside Christian Academy Royals last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Howard took a serious blow against Riverside Christian Academy, falling 73-29. While losing is never fun, Howard can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 395th, while Riverside Christian Academy is ranked 95th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Riverside Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Paris Autry, who scored 22 points along with 9 assists and 8 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Autry has scored at least 25% of Riverside Christian Academy's points. Unique Cooke was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 10 points and 12 rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Howard and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for Riverside Christian Academy, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
Howard will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Faith Christian Academy on December 18th. As for Riverside Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Wayne Preparatory Academy at 4:00 p.m. on December 14th.
