Baseball Recap: Olive Has No Trouble Against Prue

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Depew, Olive was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They blew past the Prue Rockets 11-4. Considering the Wildcats have won seven matchups by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Bryer Maxville made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Maxville was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dustyn Bruce, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-5. He has become a key player for Olive: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 4-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Ty Cleveland, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI.

Olive kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Olive's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-9. As for Prue, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Olive will face off against Paden at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Prue, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Foyil at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
