The IC Catholic Prep Knights will venture away from home to challenge the De La Salle Meteors at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. IC Catholic Prep is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.
IC Catholic Prep gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. Everything went their way against Glenbard South as they made off with a 14-7 win. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.
Madelynn Dinino spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on 11 hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

03/22/25 @ Hinsdale South | 5 |

On the hitting side, Lexi Russ was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with seven RBI, three doubles, and two runs. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Sofia Bucaro also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Russ wasn't the only one making solid contact: IC Catholic Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. The Knights are a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, De La Salle lost a heartbreaker to Saint Ignatius College Prep when they met back in April of 2024, and they left with a heavy heart again on Monday. The Meteors fell just short of the Wolfpack by a score of 12-10. It was the first time this season that the Meteors let down their fans at home.
Samara Agredano was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Gonzalez-Grimaldo, who went 2-for-5 with one triple and two RBI.
IC Catholic Prep's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for De La Salle, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 11-4.
Both IC Catholic Prep and De La Salle just can't seem to miss. The Knights have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.2 hits per game. However, it's not like De La Salle struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.7 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
IC Catholic Prep came out on top in a nail-biter against De La Salle when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 11-10. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
