Football Recap: Tulare Union Piles Up the Points Against Dinuba

Tulare Union won the last time they faced Dinuba and things went their way on Friday too. The Tribe simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Emperors 49-20. The Tribe might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 29 points or more this season.

Jordan Crisp had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 228 yards and three touchdowns while completing 90% of his passes. He is becoming a predictor of Tulare Union's success: when he posts at least three passing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't). The Tribe's leading receiver Demaje Riley was Crisp's top target yet again, picking up 131 receiving yards and one TD.

Another reason for the win was Tulare Union's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Jordan Alexander, Sevyn Strong, and Osie Early, who each picked up one sack apiece. Riley got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Dinuba's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of JACOB GUZMAN, who gained 130 total yards, and JORDAN LOPEZ, who rushed for 92 yards.

The victory made it two in a row for Tulare Union and bumps their season record up to 7-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 20 points in those games. As for Dinuba, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.

Tulare Union will square off against Tulare Western at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dinuba, they will challenge Mission Oak at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Emperors will be up against the Hawks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 36.33 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
