Kearny Christian Academy were the 70-53 winner over the Harmony Christian Hawks when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Kearny Christian Academy was just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 53-52 to Harmony Christian.
Several Kearny Christian Academy players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was David Manzo, who scored 16 points. Manzo scored a full 30.8% of Kearny Christian Academy's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryan Garcia, who scored 13 points.
Harmony Christian was led to victory by Edric Boateng and Benjamin Minton. Boateng scored 16 points along with seven rebounds, while Minton dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds. The match was Minton's third in a row with at least ten points. Jay Seward was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six rebounds.
Kearny Christian Academy now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Harmony Christian, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.
Kearny Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Trinity Christian at 5:15 p.m. on January 26th. As for Harmony Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Abundant Life Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
