St. Thomas More was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight  loss. They were a single  set away from ending the streak, but they lost  a   2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the St. Joseph-Ogden Spartans. The Sabers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in October of 2024.
 In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, St. Thomas More sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-23, 23-25,  25-19.
 Cassidy Monahan paced St. Thomas More's offense, picking up 17 kills. Monahan got some help from  Julianne Kerr and her 18 assists. Kerr was also solid from the service line:  she led the team with five aces.
St. Thomas More's loss dropped their record down to 22-12. As for St. Joseph-Ogden,  the  victory made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 11-18.
 We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. St. Thomas More is set to  square off against  their familiar foe Paxton-Buckley-Loda  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Meanwhile, St. Joseph-Ogden will  face off against  rival Illinois Valley Central  at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
