Owings Mills has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Chesapeake Bay Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Owings Mills will be strutting in after a victory while Chesapeake will be coming in after a loss.
Last Wednesday, Owings Mills humbled Sparrows Point with a 61-29 victory. The victory was just what Owings Mills needed coming off of a 81-35 defeat in their prior match.
Marcus Nelson was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for him. Gariel Avelino-Tirado was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Meanwhile, Chesapeake ended up a good deal behind Hereford on Wednesday and lost 48-29. Chesapeake has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Owings Mills now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Chesapeake, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Owings Mills came up short against Chesapeake when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 66-56. Can Owings Mills avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
