The La Vega Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the Mexia Black Cats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. La Vega is coming into the match hot, having won their last eight games.
La Vega can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent game on Tuesday. They never let C.H. Yoe onto the board and left with a 4-0 win. Give La Vega's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.
They hit C.H. Yoe with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Ramiro Varela (2),
Gael Hernandez, and
JORDAN MEDINA.
Meanwhile, Mexia had just enough and edged Marlin out 3-2 on Tuesday.
La Vega's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 43 goals over those five matches. As for Mexia, they now have a winning record of 5-4-4.
La Vega might still be hurting after the 4-1 defeat they got from Mexia in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. Can La Vega avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
