After losing to the Riverton Silverwolves the last time they met, the Viewmont Vikings decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Viewmont snuck past Riverton with a 56-51 win on Tuesday.
Viewmont's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aubrey Mulitalo led the charge by scoring 16 points along with seven rebounds. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Kristina Gunnell, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Riverton lost, one person who can't be blamed is Emmalee Christensen. Despite the final result, she scored 21 points. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for her. Faythe Stauffer was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with nine rebounds and five assists.
Viewmont now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Riverton, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games.
