Oakland Unity's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a rough 93-49 loss at the hands of KIPP King. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Oakland Unity in their matchups with KIPP King: they've now lost three in a row.
David Rogers was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 28 points and 16 rebounds for KIPP King. Rogers also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Jacob Ledezma was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds.
Oakland Unity bumped their record down to 0-1 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.3 points per game. As for KIPP King, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-7.
Oakland Unity will face off against Wilson Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for KIPP King, they will head out on the road to square off against Leadership at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Leadership is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
