Basketball Recap: Bellaire Extends Winning Streak to Five

Bellaire extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Tyniah Smith. The Bellaire Cardinals claimed a resounding 60-21 win over the Wisdom Generals thanks in part to Smith, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine steals. Those nine steals gave her a new career-high.

The team also got some help courtesy of Indiana Pak, who posted seven points in addition to six assists and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 15 games she's played dating back to last season.

Bellaire is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.9 points per game. As for Wisdom, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Bellaire has already played their next match, a 63-55 loss against Lamar on the 31st. As for Wisdom, they will challenge Cesar E. Chavez at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Wisdom is facing Cesar E. Chavez at the right time seeing as Cesar E. Chavez is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
