The Lathrop Malemutes had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against North Pole by a score of 64-51 on Thursday. That's another feather in the cap for Lathrop, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Deshon Hall was his usual excellent self, scoring 33 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Jamal Gosier was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with three steals.
Lathrop's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for North Pole, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.
Lathrop will head out on the road to square off against Mt. Edgecumbe at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for North Pole, they will be playing at home against Delta at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Alaska (North Pole is ranked 68th, while Delta is ranked 47th).
