Volleyball Recap: Kaylee Galyon Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Norton Science & Language Academy

There's no place like home for Cornerstone Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Norton Science & Language Academy Rockets on Thursday as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Crusaders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Rockets, too.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Cornerstone Christian was: they took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-13, 25-14.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cornerstone Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaylee Galyon, who had ten digs and two aces. Galyon is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Natalie Alexander, who had five digs and two aces.

They weren't the only good server: Cornerstone Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 22 aces. They are 11-1 when they serve at least ten aces.

Norton Science & Language Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aliah Lopez, who had five digs. Ahlai Calderon was another key player, getting six digs and one assist.

Cornerstone Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Norton Science & Language Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Cornerstone Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against St. Joseph Academy on the 13th. As for Norton Science & Language Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Crossroads Christian on the 12th.
