Montwood and Eastwood are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2021, but likely not for long. Montwood will be playing at home against Eastwood at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Montwood gave up the first runs last Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. Everything went their way against Coronado as Montwood made off with a 14-3 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.

Jaeda Quinones was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Nevaeh Heredia was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Quinones wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Montwood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in nine consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Eastwood won against Pebble Hills on Tuesday with 12 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. Eastwood never let Coronado get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. Winning may never get old, but the Troopers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Eastwood got a massive performance out of Emma Jauregui, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Amanda Rodriguez, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Montwood's victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-6. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Eastwood, their victory bumped their record up to 24-2-1.
Saturday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Montwood has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .482. However, it's not like Eastwood struggles in that department as they've averaged .492. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Montwood beat Eastwood 6-3 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will Montwood repeat their success, or does Eastwood has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
