The King's Academy Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Pinecrest Academy Paladins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The King's Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
The King's Academy was not the first on the board last Friday, but they got there more often. They were the clear victor by a 27-3 margin over Calvary Christian. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as The King's Academy just coasted through the last quarter.
Among those leading the charge was Will Johnson, who threw for 148 yards and three touchdowns. Jaxon Bone and his 122 yards on the ground were also a key factor in The King's Academy's victory.
Meanwhile, Pinecrest Academy got themselves on the board against Creekside Christian Academy on Friday, but Creekside Christian Academy never followed suit. They blew past the Cougars 43-0 at home. The result was nothing new for Pinecrest Academy, who have now won three contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Their wins bumped The King's Academy to 5-2 and Pinecrest Academy to 3-3.
The King's Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Pinecrest Academy when the teams last played back in October of 2022, winning 20-12. The rematch might be a little tougher for The King's Academy since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
